This is why we love you, Sean.
6 boys from Merthyr changed my life completely.
The Blackout mean everything to me. I’m not just saying that; they’ve become the air that I breathe. They have no idea how inspiring their music is. Their music has inspired me to play several musical instruments. I never thought I would have the chance to even play one. I need to thank Matthew and Bob for inspiring me to play guitar. My guitar has overtaken my life and gave me a love for music. The Blackout have inspired me to study music and follow it with all my heart. I am now looking at studying Music at University.
I cannot thank them enough for helping me to overcome my fears and helping me to become the person I am today. Their music has helped through very very rough times. I have recently been on the brink of suicide. I stopped listening to music, playing guitar, saxophone and piano. I stopped doing everything I used to all because of my family and my friends. I was completely alone. I just sat in my room and stared at the walls waiting for something positive to come along. After a year of just sitting there they were the only reason that changed. ‘Best in Town’ was released. That album changed my world upside down. They gave me a reason to live.
They boys gave me a positive outlook on life. They actually made me want to breathe. Their music is the only thing I live for, the only thing I look forward to hearing. The four years in which I have listened to them has been incredible. They have no idea how much I love them. By listening to them you can tell how much dedication and effort they put in to make each record and I fucking love that.
Nothing beats that feeling I get when I see them live. Songs which are played that mean so much to you. Nothing beats this feeling. It’s the best in the world.
I hope that one day I will have the honour of meeting these guys. The love I have for this band is indescribable. They mean the world to be and nobody can take their music away from my heart <3
Not exactly “why i love the blackout” but it definitely shows some hardcore fan stuff going on :D xx
This is for all fans of the blackout - as you know, they’re touring in december with you me at six, and i’ve seen it a few times before (with bands like BMTH, The Summer Set, etc) where they make a scrapbook for the band and give it to them on tour.
I’d love to do one for The Blackout and give it to them on their tour with You Me At Six. The Blackout have AMAZING fans, as you know, they’ve started Riot Squad, and that’s become a revolution already! I think it would be so great if we could do a scrapbook for them, and i’d give it to them at the Bournemouth show.
So, obviously the scrapbook will have pictures of them bla bla bla, but I want fans to get involved with it aswell!
So, the sort of stuff you can send: pictures of you and the band, pictures of your blackout merch - if any of you have a “blackout wall” (pictures/cut-outs of the blackout from magazines and you’ve stuck it all onto your wall :’]) but i’d really like for a handwritten type piece about the what the blackout mean to you.
If you have a scanner you could scan it but if you want to mail it to me then email me and you can have my address :’)
The sort of things i want to go into the scrapbook:
- Pictures of you and the band
- Drawings of the band
- Memories of the band
- What the band mean to you
- Blackout jewellry (blackout guitar pick necklace?)
- Anything blackout-related really
- Funny Fanfic - this will be quality!
So, if your interested in submitting ANYTHING to the scrapbook, email me at:crank.it.up@live.co.uk
and put the subject as “Blackout Scrapbook” or something like that! (Obviously, i’ll put everything into the scrapbook - and credit you, like ‘Name, Age, from somewhere in the world!) :D
Thanks!
Mae :)
~(P.S. it’d be really great if no one else made a scrapbook, cuz everything will go in and be credited and it’d be really cute if they could just get one from all of the fans, rather than loads :’])
:D contact crank.it.up@live.co.uk for anything in the scrapbook xx
So I have already posted my love for them and what they mean to mean, but I just wanted to say …
Right, so I know they can all look after themselves and that but some of the things that gets posted to them on twitter is awful. Stuff like ‘I think you should die’ ‘They are cunts’ Yeah everyone has their opinion, but wishing someone to die is an awful thing to say! Also its funny how people say bad things about them when they haven’t even met them. I’ve only met Snoz, Rhys + Matthew, but they were lovely and took their time out to actually talk/take pictures with us.
People should know not to take The Blackout serious cause they are sarcastic twats ;) but thats why we love them <3
So we just found out that The Blackout did not win best single.
Physically shocked and appalled. Anyone who knows ME knows I don’t like YouMeAtSix, and i’m not being bitter towards them but what?
The fact they beat The Blackout is bad enough but they also beat Avenged Sevenfold? It’s a scam. Screw that.
I just want the guys in The Blackout to know, that no fucking award means shit to us.
I know it probably means the world to you guys. It’s a sign of how hard you have worked and it would have been fantastic for you to win, but know this.
Your fans would love you even if you never won an award in your life.
You don’t need an award.
We adore you.
You’re the nicest people i’ve ever met in my entire life.
You make me laugh.
You brighten up my day, you brighten up my life.
Knowing I have a TBO show coming up keeps me smiling. I don’t know what i’m going to do after tomorrow when you don’t play another show for over a month. I’m gonna go stir crazy. Not looking forward to it.
You guys goof around a lot, we can see that from your tour and studio diaries.
But you also work really fucking hard. REALLY hard.
Anyone who has seen you live can tell that you guys are the real deal.
When the crowd sings back to your songs, all I have to do is look at the smile on Sean’s face to know he’s truly happy. Your music means the world to you guys.
You’re not in it for the money, or the fame, you’re in it for the music.
You should have been nominated for more awards than you were, and you should have won best single. I know at least 20 people who voted around 500 times for you. You should have won.
I’ve forgotten where I am with this now.
But basically, what I wanted to say was, you guys don’t need an award.
You have the BEST, most loyal fan base of any band I know.
We love you. We love you SO fucking much and never ever forget that.
Even if you feel shit for not winning that poxy award.
WE.LOVE.YOU.
Remember<3
- from Cheri and i’m pretty sure this is on behalf of most of your fan base also <3
